Matcha HotChocolate Recipe
White Chocolate (White baking chips are fine)
Matcha Powder
Heavy Cream (To make a matcha truffle that the bomb will be filled with)
First you will need to make the matcha powder truffles
Melt the white chocolate, heavy whipping cream, and the matcha in a microwave safe bowl. Cover it with plastic wrap and let it chill in the fridge or the freezer for 1 hour or until it is fully set.
Scoop out 1 tsp or truffle mixture and roll it to get the perfect little truffles and set aside.
Now let’s make the matcha spheres for our white hot chocolate bombs:
Melt the rest of the chocolate with the matcha in a microwave safe bowl, divide that into purple silicone mold and spread it all around. Freeze for 10 minutes or until set.
Assemble the white hot chocolate bombs with matcha, filling each hot chocolate bomb with one matcha truffle. Drizzle with some extra white
chocolate if you’d like.
Enjoy by pouring hot milk over one hot chocolate bomb for the perfect cozy matcha drink.
Honey Shell Recipe
1 cup of sugar
1/3 cup of honey (can omit honey for basic sugar shell)
1 cup of white corn syrup
½ cup of water
Pinch of cream of tartar Instructions
Try adding all natural food coloring to your sugar mixture to create beautiful stained glass colored shells.
How toColor Tea Bomb Shells:
I used a basic sugar glass recipe
Once I had my sugar, corn syrup, and water boiling I brought it to that hard crack temperature which is about 290-300 degrees Fahrenheit.
I transferred the mixture to parchment paper on a cookie sheet.
Be careful! The sugar is very hot.
I spread the mixture with a wooden spoon and swirled in my natural food coloring powders using blue and green.
Once this cooled to that sugar glass state I broke it up so that I could store it for later use. They will stick together but don’t fret! Just break them up again.
Take a handful of sugar chips and place in a microwave safe mug. Do not use Tupperware!
It will melt.
Microwave for about 30-40 seconds.
Have your purple silicone molds ready and spoon about 2 tsp of your melted sugar into ONE slot at a time and work very quickly because it hardens fast. Only do one sphere at a time because of this.
Let your spheres cool at room temperature for about an hour.
Pop your beautiful half spheres out and add your tea of choice. I used a tea bag. Use the hot plate method where you melt the edges slightly to connect your half spheres. Don’t linger on the hot plate, it does not take much to adhere these together. Waiting too long will cause your spheres to warp! Put your spheres back in their molds to rest.
Your tea will be sweet! And it’s even better iced after you’ve made it.
